I own a unit at Renprop The Boundary in Lonehill complex. I don't live in the unit so rarely visit it. In the 1st week of October 2015 I could not gain access to the complex with my remote. I was told the remotes had been recoded.

I got in touch with Renprop estate managers Shavonne van den Berg and Ruan de Kock who advised that I've a choice of reprogramming the existing remote by means of a 3d party vendor called IPS or purchasing a new remote from Renprop. They told me that this company would charge a call out fee of R480 excl vat replacement/repair of current remote and that Renprop offers the more secure code hopping Nova remote at R350.

I rep**** that both options are completely unacceptable as I pay monthly levies to cover such miscellaneous expenses. The complex I live in (not Renprop owned) which is also in Lonehill and of similar style and market valued units as Boundary, recoded their remotes in the same manner last month without charging owners a cent.

If I had known Renprop would try and make a profit at any opportunity from their customers I certainly would never have bought property from them.
