Poor Workmanship, Safety Risk & Ongoing Issues – Renew-It Rivonia

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Renew-It Rivonia following repairs done through an insurance claim.

From the start, the quality of work was unacceptable. The bumper was repaired instead of replaced, despite the insurance assessment approving a replacement. The paintwork on the repaired areas does not match the rest of the vehicle.

When I collected my car, I identified multiple issues that were not present before the repair:

* Additional scratches and scuff marks * Missing parts (boot stabilizers and gear lever button) * A damaged headlight caused during the repair process * New driving noises that were not present before

I also reported an issue with the side mirror not folding correctly after the repair. Although the mirror was replaced, the problem persisted and was later attributed to a possible wiring issue, indicating poor diagnosis.

A major safety concern arose when a wheel nut was found to be incorrectly installed and not properly tightened. An independent inspection confirmed that the wheel was loosely fitted and not torqued correctly. This posed a serious risk while driving.

Despite raising these concerns early, the process involved delays, repeated follow-ups, and limited resolution. I had to take my vehicle to another service provider to resolve some of the issues, including brake-related concerns that were not properly assessed despite impact to the wheel area.

Throughout this process, I dealt with Brendel from Renew-It Rivonia, who communicated that certain issues were considered “wear and tear.”

This experience reflects a lack of quality control, poor workmanship, and inadequate attention to safety-critical components.

I strongly advise others to carefully consider their options before using this panelbeater. I am currently escalating this matter further.
