Vehicle damaged by Renew-It Panel beaters
On 6 January I took my car in for scratches to be repaired on the left hand side. I was contacted on the 19th and advised that my car was ready for collection. Went through and found new damage on my vehicle, looks like Renew-It scratched or bumped it, I left it there to be repaired. I was contacted on the 20th that everything was repaired and I can fetch my car, Inspected the outside of the car where the scratches and new damage caused by Renew-It was and it seemed to be repaired. As I got into my car I found my driver side sun visor was replaced with a broken one with dirty hand marks next to it, I pointed this out to Sophia and she got someone to clean the hand marks off instantly. After seeing this I decided to check my car on the inside as well and found the following... Left-hand mirror not working and loose (motor to fold the mirror back not working - this worked before I took my car in to Renew-It) Left front door panel broken and repaired with "plastic weld" (looks like it got burnt with a blowtorch). Bee sting areal bent. “i-VTEC 2.4 DOHC” emblem missing from engine (according to the senior accessor from Renew-It, it might have come off when they washed the engine) if they wash the engines with high pressure hoses this is worrisome as this action will damage computer boxes in the engine. I pointed out to him that the engine compartment is still dirty so it could not have been the case. Mag was still scratched and not repaired. Left hand door panel and fender did not align. Engine making a blowing noise and insane amounts of engine oil leaking (my garage floor does not have a peck of oil on it before I took my car to Renew-It). I checked on the cars onboard computer and the instance showing how many litres used/100km was sitting on 30L/100km. (this is the maximum it can go to) Normally it reads 13L/100KM - and this is heavy. I have since driven 100km's and it is only down to 19.7L/100KM - I was taking it slow to see how fast it will come down. This is an indication that Renew-It took my car on the road and drove the **** out of it thus blowing gaskets on the motor. The same manager/accessor said that when they remove the battery the computer box defaults to 30L/100KM, if this is the case it should as soon as you start the vehicle go down to 12L or 13L at max. Renew-It took photographs of my vehicle when I booked it in, I asked for the copies of all photos as this will proof the damage to my vehicle was not there when I left my car at Renew-It. Sophia is not responding to my request.... Fortunately I took my car to other panel beaters for an assessment and they are busy drafting a damage report I will be sending through to my insurer.
