Panel Beater from HELL

I took my vehicle to Renew-It Randburg a month ago because the boundary wall of my complex collapsed onto the front end of my vehicle.

The issues started when I received a call on Wednesday the 20-03-2019 stating that my car was ready for collection. Upon arrival the very next day I was told that the vehicle was not actually ready as the vehicle was still missing the front badge.

While I was there I decided to view the vehicle irrespective. That is when I noticed how unprofessional and careless the repairs have been done.

- The scratch on the door was painted over like if someone had taken Tippex and just touched up.

- The windscreen had not been touched and all marks from the incident were still there.

-The front right fender was completely lifting up and not lining up with the left side

- The bonnet around the edges looked like they used medieval tools to shape it.

- When inspecting the bonnet I noticed they had broken a clip on one of the mechanisms and failed to notify me.

- They returned my key back broken, as if someone had dropped it or driven over it, after checking the key and putting it back together correctly It was fixed.

I then proceeded to point out all the issues I noticed and asked if they could be resolved.

I returned a week later to collect the vehicle again and found that the windscreen had been replaced, the door painted correctly and the front badge had been installed, but when I checked the fender I noticed that in order to resolve the slight flap they resulted in double sided tape to hold it down and it was still not lining up. And after having my vehicle for only 5 days, the battery has started giving me issues, perhaps because they neglected to start the vehicle every now and then, and a vehicle that sits for a month will obviously start having battery issues if not started once in a while.

I feel extremely frustrated, betrayed as I am the one who chose the panel beater to take my vehicle as well as disappointed in the level of workmanship they have illustrated. My vehicle was in great condition before the incident, no issues with battery or keys or any broken parts but now I am left with a car that has double sided tape on the fender, battles to start the ignition, broken parts in the engine bay and if I ever have to sell the car it will be evident that the vehicle was repaired poorly.

I would NEVER recommend this panel beater to anyone and I hope that the relevant action is taken upon those who think that using double sided tape to fix a fender is the correct way of doing things.

I have been told that they will be requesting the vehicle back to resolve the fender, but I am afraid that if my vehicle returns to this place, it will come back with another long list of issues.
