Horrific service / workmanship from Renew-it Randburg
I was involved in a vehicle accident in November 2019, nothing major, just a simple bumper bashing. As per my insurance company my vehicle was sent to Renew-It Randburg. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE!!!
I have had nothing but issues with them and my vehicle is still not fixed properly and because of bad workmanship, I was almost involved in another accident on 2020/02/11.
When the vehicle was sent to them for repair on the 2019/11/27, I received no feedback or updates from them unless I called them. A assessor was sent out and claim approved (which I also had to get involved in and get from my insurance company) on the 2019/12/03. The parts for my vehicle all arrived by 2019/12/09, for a total of 2 weeks nothing was done to my vehicle even though I told the lady that was supposedly assisting me (Patricia) that the repair is Urgent as I only have the rental vehicle until the 2019/12/18 and we were going on holiday on the 2019/12/22. I called Renew-It (Patricia Chabalala) every second - third day to confirm and check progress on my vehicle, she told me all was on track and will be done in time. On the 2019/12/17 when I called to confirm that all is still on track and that my vehicle will be ready on time, I was told that the vehicle is still in panel beating (even though they only needed to spray the bumper) and that all the parts were not there (which was just another lie). I went to Renew-It and insisted on speaking to a Manager as I was not believing anything Patricia was telling me. Lana and Eddie assisted me and I then found out that NOTHING was done to my vehicle up until then. Eddie promised me that if the vehicle could not be ready in time he will give me a courtesy vehicle on the 2019/12/21 so we could go on holiday the 2019/12/22 as this was a Sunday. Well needless to say the vehicle was not ready and I also did not receive a courtesy vehicle. I received my vehicle on the 2019/12/23 14:30. On the inspection of the vehicle, issues that we could see was that the paint work on the bumper was done very badly and was running as well. Lana told me not to worry this is not a big issue and they will fix it in January 2020 and that the main thing was that the vehicle was ok mechanically (this was also not true). I pointed out that the drivers side mirror was scratched and that was not there before. The radio code was not even put into the radio, we had to get the code from Renault and put it in ourselves. We paid our excess and left. Immediately when we left we picked up there were issues, the window in the drivers side door was loose and making a loud noise every time I would open / close the door (this has since gotten worse). Upon my return to work on 2020/01/08 I sent a mail to Renew-It and my insurance company informing them of all the issues, also stating that I would need a courtesy vehicle when the vehicle goes back as the repairs were definitely not going to take just one day. I got one phone call from Patricia the following week wanting to arrange to get my vehicle in for the day, I said to her this is not a one day job and I will need a courtesy vehicle, she said they don't have one available but she would call me the following week (2020/01/20) as they will have one then. I never received a call. On the 2020/01/29 I sent a mail again to the panel beater and the insurance notifying them of more issues, Aircon compressor very noisy and getting worse and also a problem with the gearbox. The insurance and assessor sent the panel beater mails, which was once again ignored. On the morning of the 2020/02/11 the wheel arch plastic liner on the drivers side of the vehicle came loose due to poor workmanship, luckily I was able to avoid a head-on collision and all other vehicles coming in all directions as this was in peak hour traffic. I called the insurance company and sent a mail again as this has escalated and has now become a safety issue for me and my family as I don't know what else was repaired poorly or not at all. At this time I also got Renew-It head office (Masego Modisagae), Renault SA involved (Lebo). To date 2020/02/18 nothing has been done, mails are sent from Renew-It head office requesting feedback from Renew-It Randburg, Accessor mails are sent requesting the same but no one is actually doing anything to get this resolved. Myself and my husband have tried calling Masego from Renew-It head office but she is never in the office and also never returns calls. If there is someone that could possibly give me advise on what to do to get this resolved I would greatly appreciate it. Apparently the safety of my self and children are not important to these companies!
