Disaster after disaster and still a disaster

I was involved in an accident on 3 April 2017 where someone drove into the back of me. The impact was so hard that the drivers seat collapsed and bent backwards, the head rest bent and the cubby fell out. The car was towed to Renew-It Randburg the same night. Net Assess did the assessment the next day. At the time I was assigned Colin as my contact person. I called multiple times to ask for an update. Eventually I was called back and asked to collect my vehicle on 6 May 2017. I arrived to check the workmanship on the vehicle and noticed a few things immediately.

1. The interior damage to the car was not repaired at all. This was blamed on Net Assess that an assessment was not done of the interior and passed onto them for repairs. 2. The lock on the spare tyre along with the key had not been replaced - the key was attached to the car keys when handed over and had been removed. 3. The windscreen wiper fluid nozzle had been removed and was missing. Fortunately I had photographic evidence that the nozzle was on the car when it arrived and had been assessed on their property.

I pointed out to Colin the above issues and showed him that the actual drivers seat was bent and did not match up with the passenger seat.

I called again on the Monday to get an update on the repairs that were to be carried out on the interior. I was then told Colin had resigned. I was then pushed and shoved to various people and had no idea who the consultant was. I then dealt with Thalitha who seemed to be quite helpful at the time.

After the repairs were done to my vehicle, the car was delivered to my residence, however, the lock was missing and the head rest was still bent. I called Thalitha and she said that the lock was left behind in her office and the wrong color head rest had been ordered and it will be delivered at a later stage once they had received the part. A delivery occurred to every 2 weeks from their supplier and no part was received. It took a call from myself to the director of their supplier to receive the head rest on 20 September 2017. The head rest is still incorrect. A passenger side head rest was received and I needed a driver side head rest. The head rest also does not stay up and keeps falling back into the seat.

We met with Akeem who thinks there is an internal problem with the seat itself. We had said to Colin at the first inspection that there is a problem with the seat and this should be checked and corrected. This was clearly not done.

It has been 6.5 months and the vehicle has still not been properly repaired. It is a constant fight to get anything done with Renew-it Randburg.

The lock for the vehicle was supposed to be delivered, however, Thalitha has now gone and changed her story. Despite having emails to say they will replace it, she now says the fitter did put it back and this needs to be investigated - this is 4 months after her initial email saying that the lock replaced. Although the cost of a lock is not high, it is a matter of principal.

Thalitha is now completely avoiding me, not once returning my calls. Akeem appears to have taken over my case and I surely hope he can expedite the matter.

Head Office also calls their customers to follow up on the service received. I received a call back in June, expressed that I am happy and was promised someone would call me back. To this day, I have not received a call from Renew-it head office to follow up.

I would never recommend Renew-It to anyone.
