Rene's: ACT Chemical Peel Disaster

<p>RENE'S BEAUTY INSTITUTE BRAKPAN I went to Rene's in August 2017 for a facial. She suggested a ACT Chemical peel at a cost of R850.00. She said that my face will peel for 7 days and thereafter I must buy a cream at Benns Pharmacy at a cost of R550.00. I started using the cream and my skin became pitch black and were full of holes. I thereafter consulted a Dermatologist Dr La **** in Benoni. He suggested I go back to her to enquire from her which chemicals she used in the peel in order for him to help me. He also said that if she refers to Dr *** it is a cosmetic surgeon that has been stripped of his licence to practice for medical mallpractice. Cost of Consultation and cream by Dermatologist R850.00 and R550.00. He also prescriped medication for skin ecsema. I went back to Rene's and got the list of chemicals she used and she confirmed that indeed it was a Dr&nbsp;**** cream she prescriped. I went back to the Dermatologist with the information. He then informed me that ACT chemical peels are very dangerous and are no longer done. He then booked me for CO2 Laser treatment at LCM laser clinic in Pretoria at a cost of R10 000.00. He also said that I developped hyper***mentation, ecsema and melasma as a result of the ACT chemical peel. I waited 7 days after the laser treatment and my skin melasm was a bit lighter but it was stubborn. I thereafter went to Placecol i n Springs for a AFT Laser treatment at a cost of R2100.00for the treatment and sunblock. At this stage my melasma is still stubborn and not fading. I would just suggest that no other customer must allow Rene to perform the ACT chemical peel on them.</p>
