Unacceptable aftercare from Renault SA
Our vehicle, a Renault Sandero Stepway which was bought brand new went in for a minor service on the 12th of May. I asked them to check the driver seat as it feels loose sometimes and makes a noise when moving.
Upon collection of the vehicle I was told by Jewel that the frame of the seat was cracked and that they would put in a warranty claim on Monday and would call me during the week.
I never received any phone call, so on Friday I phoned to follow up with Jewel. I never got through, their telephone lines are garbage, you hold on the line, get transferred 100 times then just get cut off. I then left a message with the phone operator for Jewel to phone me back, but as expected he NEVER did!
So i followed up myself and received an email from Jannie Steenkamp informing me that the feedback from Renault SA was that the movement on the seat is normal and if I'm not happy with the decision I should contact customer care which I did and I spoke to Lucy.
Lucy assured me she would do everything in her power to assist me to get the problem sorted out. She phoned me back and informed me that they would arrange with technicians to check out the seat and I would have to take the vehicle back to the dealership.
This was 2 months ago, and I never heard from her or anybody from Renault again.
So this is what we have to deal with, another useless South African company that is eager to sell you a vehicle to make money, but when it comes to after care / looking after customers it is nonexistent.
We will be needing a second vehicle in the near future, but guess what, we won't be buying from Renault SA.
