To whom it may concern, I trust this finds you well. I am writing this complaint on Renault Edenvale and the poor service I have received from them. On August the 12th, my car broke down due to clutch damage and I had taken their car on a flatbed to their dealership to work on. I was told to expect some delays as the technician had other cars in line. When the technician finally diagnosed the car, they had told me what cost would be, which was quoted to be around R81 000. Due to expensive cost of the OEM parts, I had thought it would be best we get aftermarket parts as to get something affordable, which I did get in the form of recommissioned and re-engineered parts and a new CSC. My car had a warranty which I had advised Liza-Marie about, and had provided her with the policy number, and had already processed a claim on the warranty once she had given me the quote on the parts. As I had to collect the parts for the re-engineering, Liza-Marie Scheepers advised me to not order the master cylinder as the technician had advised that we would need to get the actual part from Renault. As I had brought the parts back around early September, the technician, Thabo Moremi, had confirmed that all parts are perfect and will be good enough to be fitted. As advised earlier by Liza-Marie, I got all parts, excluding the master cylinder as they said that they will be the ones ordering it. As the technician was getting ready to work on the car, Liza-Marie only realised then that she did not order the parts and given that there was no stock of said parts in South Africa, this ended up in a back order where I had to wait an additional month. As the master cylinder part arrived, only then do they realise that release bearing on the CSC was the incorrect size, which I had to collect to get the correct one and due to lubrication already being app**** to part, I had to pay an additional R1 400 to get another part as they would not accept the initial part. After this, the technician confirmed the parts were correct and will be fitted. After this and putting the car back together and testing the car, there was a minor work on and with a minor hiccup as due to the putting together of all the engine components, the slave cylinder on the CSV came loose, I had received the car back end of October/beginning of November. The car has had a whining noise of which I was advised by the technician that driving the car further will remove the whining noise. I had driven the car for over 3 500KM and still, there was a whining noise. On the 30th of January 2026, just about 3 months after receiving the car, the car gave an error which stated “Check anti-pollution system” which did not go away. I had reached out to the technician to get clarity on how to solve this issue and advised a diagnostic test needs to be done. When the diagnostic test was done, it picked up that there was an error with the camshaft of the car, a completely independent part to the parts which needed to be repaired. In addition, they stated that the release bearing seems to have failed in addition to a lack of centering of the clutch, and this is due to poor workmanship. I had brought the car in on Monday and brought the details of the diagnostics, which I presented to the now-workshop manager, Scott, of which his surname, I do not know. When I had spoken about what the diagnostics said, they pointed to me not getting OEM parts, which is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand as there is a part failure which a diagnostic report attributed to worksmanship. They did not address the issue as to why In brought the car and felt that Scott’s attitude towards me was one which was incredibly dismissive of the issue and not acknowledging the issue at hand, as even if the parts I had brought were a problem, they approved it to be fit and tested the parts out without an issue. In addition, there was no element of taking into account prior context of the whole situation and arrogantly said that I must just book the car in. All of this is the service I received for the money which was claimed before anything had been done on my car, and I did not have a car for 3 months due to the poor supply chain system, and even then, I have not had the car for 3 months, and it is already having problems. This was the least of anyone’s worries. Instead of getting decent service for all that I have endured from this dealership, they have arrogantly dismissed my concerns and have not tried to address it in any way. I do not believe what I have had to endure is something anyone should experience, and I had to experience this. I do not believe any of the above mentioned staff have given me any sort of decent service and do not believe I deserve it. I would like to ask that this be assessed as this has been a harrowing 5 months where my car is not back to being normal due to the negligence, arrogance of those in the position to assist us, and their lack of concern of your staff. Many thanks in advance. Kind regards.
