I took my vehicle to Renault KE Masing for a full diagnostic. Later, I was contacted and informed that the battery needed to be replaced. They recommended that I purchase a new battery from them, which I declined as their prices are extremely expensive. What is most disappointing is that I was charged the full diagnostic fee, only to be told that the battery was too weak for them to carry out the diagnostic properly. I was then advised to replace the battery and return so that they could perform the full diagnostic. My concern is why I was charged for a full diagnostic when, according to them, they were unable to complete it due to the battery being too low. Surely, an alternative battery or suitable diagnostic procedure could have been used to determine whether there were any other issues with the vehicle before charging me the full diagnostic fee. At the time, it was not clearly communicated to me that the diagnostic could not be completed. I was left with the impression that the vehicle had undergone the diagnostic, only to later find out that this was not the case. I find this extremely disappointing and feel that I was charged for a service that was not actually completed. In my view, charging a customer the full diagnostic fee simply to tell them that the battery needs to be replaced, without completing the diagnostic, is unacceptable. This experience has seriously damaged my confidence in Renault KE Masing. I am very disappointed with the way this matter was handled and, unfortunately, I will not be using this company again.
