Why do you have insurance ??????
We had a electric storm on the 27th November 2017 what lead to a couple of power surges and damaged my fridge freezer and the tumble dryer that been running with towels in it. Our domestic discovered the damages the next day and I phoned an qualified appliance expert to come out and check what the problem might be. He tested all affected and discovered that the power surges damaged the control card and motor in the tumble dryer and is uneconomical repairable. I had to pay his call out fee plus for the report that needed to be sent to the broker to register the claim what were according to the broker be re-imbursed to be once the claim is being approved. They send a assessor two weeks later and he were in contact with me during the whole process the whole time and phoned me on the 15th December 2017 to say that he just submitted his report to the insurers for them to proceed with the claim. After I waited another 5 days I phoned my broker as we are having family over for the holiday season and that I can't be with out a fridge during this time. They sent me a letter for release and I completed it and mailed back with in 10min of receiving it.Yesterday (22nd December) out of desperation I managed to get hold of someone at Renasa which said I can only expect the pay out after Christmas on the 27 December. How am I suppose to manage and cope without a fridge with a whole house full of family plus with shops being closed on Christmas in this heat ??? So today out of desperation I took R13 000 out of my own money and go and buy one which leaves a lot of restricted and careful budgeted shopping left. How can an insurance company just don't care about the basic needs of their clients or is my R1800 premium per month just not that important to them ? Now I am basically left with out any spending money and keep the question in my head why does it take a month to finalize a claim thats been approved long ago ? why am I as consumer just not important to Renasa ? Why ????
