Offer vs quote from panelbeater

In November 14 I was driving on the M2 when the other driving bumped me on the left when she realized she was on the wrong late. I was only contacted in Jan by the broker Marie asking me for documents. I had to keep doing follow ups without them bothering. Eventually they came with a settlement offer of R5500 which I refused as the panelbeater quoted 56000. The 2nd offer was 9500 which I also refused. The assessment was apparently done digitally hence these amounts. The final offer was 16500 which I still do not agree to since MF panelbeater advised me that the car is a possible right off. I had asked them to fix my car but Colin said I'm not their client and will not do that. If I accept the offer I will be liable to pay for storage. Yesterday another email from Francis said that's their final offer and they will not pay me anything if I don't accept payment by close of business today. What I fail to understand is why do they insist in depositing that money into my acc and not paying the panelbeater. It's 9 months I have been without a car and looks this will drag for over a year. FIX THE CAR!!! I have never been in an accident before. All I want is my car to be road worthy.

Hello ratolation1,

It is not our policy to repair a Third Party's car. We settle cash in lieu based on what we believe is an equitable amount . In the case of your vehicle the majority of repair work quoted for was not related to this collision hence the difference in the quoted amount and the assessed amount.
