Remax charged me deposit release fee for a breach of contract after complying with the contract

I had a 12 months lease contract with Remax. I stayed for 12 months and gave them 2 months notice that I would not renew the contract. Furthermore on the lease agreement clause 21.4 states that there are costs which should be paid if the lessee or lessor breach the contract namely deposit release fee (clause 21.4.6). Remax charged me for deposit release fee of R220 and deducted it from the deposit. When I started what the contract states, I was told quoting " The deposit refund fee falls under Clause 21 COSTS, therefore, one must use their own initiative to differentiate which costs will fall under breach and which will not." I have not breached contract and I was charged deposit release fee.
