Re/max frontier in Grahamstown only sees dollar signs when it comes to students

<p>I live in Aquitaine Way which is a student housing complex in Grahamstown. I am a postgraduate student studying towards my B.Sc. honours degree in geology. I understand that the complex may be noisy at certain times especially over weekends but it has come to the point where it has become out of hand. </p> <p> </p> <p>I can no longer tolerate the deliberate ignorance of the body corporate when it comes to student grievances. Myself as well as my digs mate have on a number of occasions emailed the body corporate asking for something to be done. As of yet absolutely nothing has been done. Each unit has a list of the body corporate house rules. It clearly states the times in which noise is "accepted" and the protocol to be followed if these rules are disobeyed however on numerous occasions I have been kept awake until 5am because of all the partying going on. The number of times people have vomitted on the stairs outside my window from being over intoxicated is appalling! It doesn't end there. The number of fights that happen in the early hours of the morning is also alarming. In the last week a girl was giving her boyfriend a good klap outside my window because he had been sleeping around.</p> <p> </p> <p>Drug abuse also seems to be an issue in this complex. As I am typing this I can smell someone is smoking marijuana. I have also heard a girl sobbing before outside my window and someone said, "Don't worry, she had too much it'll soon pass."</p> <p> </p> <p>Having to constantly live with all this going on at least three times a week has become too much. I hope that Re/max wakes up and takes me seriously now. I get the feeling that they don't really care about us, all they want is our monthly rent. Last year the element blew in the washing machine and after months of reporting the issue nothing ever came of it. It turns out that the person that deals with Aquitaine at Re/max left and we were never notified of it so our emails were probably landing in an inactive email box.</p> <p> </p> <p>I will never do business through Re/max again or through any other Re/max branch nor will I recommend them to anybody.</p> <p> </p> <p>At the end of the day all I would like is for people to be considerate to those around them.</p>
