POOR REMAX SERVICE - AGENT

I was contacted by Lisa the Agent of Parkville Properties (Pty) Ltd t/a a franchise of Remax of Southern Africa, during April 2025, to act as the estate agent to sell my house in Ferndale, Randburg. Lisa promised me the sun, the moon, stars and rest of the universe and told me that as soon as she had photos of the house, prospective buyers would stream in. I completed the renovations and we signed a sole mandate for a period of 3 months on 1 June 2025. Very soon Lisa brought a prospective customer to come and view the house. She informed me that the buyer is interested and that the buyer will buy cash. After receiving this information I put in the condition that a 60% deposit was required and that if the sale went into default only 50% of the deposit would be refunded. I never heard from the prospective buyer again and only had contact with Lisa when I phoned her. I am of the opinion that Lisa might be part and parcel of a money laundering scheme as I never heard from her again and she also insisted on an above average price for my house to be listed at. The prospective buyer that came to view my house also did not negotiate a lower price, which furthermore indicate to money laundering. I am very disappointed with Lisa's conduct and I do not think she holds up the Remax name. If ever I had to buy a property I will surely not buy from a Remax agent.
