Never Use remax

I recently contacted Remax brakpan to acquire a tenant for one of my mothers properties, I had used them in October to do the same and had no problem thus came back as return business . A tenant was to be coming in on the 1st June and the agent (Cindy Pistorius)came to see us for the contract signing on the day but when she said we would forfeit the first months rent we were less then pleased as in October I was charged a 5% placement fee and we were not willing to now just forfeit R13 000 and still be expected to pay back a deposit to the tenant when they finish their leases term. The agent then said she would adhere to the 5% but we informed her that we would not sign the contract until that had been done. The tenant moved in and 2days later only the deposit and not the agreed percentage was deposited in to my mothers account, upon receiving that notification I then called the agent and was notified that the amounts are separated and she would contact accounts and get back to me. The following day I was never contacted and could no longer get ahold of the agent via text or telephonically but instead her phone was now being answered by another person who said she was with a client and would return my call but this never happened. I then called the office the following day after not getting a response and the office tells me they have never worked on a percentage base but always took the first months rent. Clearly they must have amnesia because I had dealings with them in October and still have the email to prove so . I was told that’s how it is and given a number for one of the principal agents but also couldn’t get ahold of him. I spoke to the tenants who were charged a fee for a contract that isn’t signed and they too are having difficulty getting ahold of the agent. I sent an email to their head office from an e-mail found on this platform but never heard anything back. Save yourself the headache and never use remax.

So I emailed the QA department and I can’t say I’m surprised because I had tried to get assistance from them before coming to this platform and just like my initial mail to them no response has been received.
