Never rent propertly with Remax Town and Country in Krugersdorp

Hi I had a lease agreement with Remax Town and Country in Krugesdorp. my lease was from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020. On the 2nd of March 2020, I send an email to Connie Snyman (the agent) informing her of my decision not to renew the lease agreement when it comes to an end at the end of March. Before lockdown started Connie wanted her new tenants to move into the flat and I must move out before then, I told her I cant move out earlier and I had a contract until 31 March 2020 and my new place was not ready yet. fast forward to 25.03.2020 a day before lockdown, the people who were busy with maintenance at the new house informed me that other section of the house is complete and I can move some of my furniture in. knowing that my lease is coming to an end by 31.03.2020, we packed up everything and moved into the house the night before lockdown. I informed Connie that I have moved out and I asked when can I bring in the keys. I was told since its a lockdown I can only bring the keys when the lockdown is over. when Level 4 started Connie called me to arranged an exit inspection which I did with Nadia on the 9th of May 2020. After the inspection I requested the report and even asked for refund on my R5900 deposit. Connie only send me a report and told me I will not get my deposit back as it was used to pay for April rental. I have given notice to move out, and I have moved out before the contract expires, why am I being punished for a lockdown which resulted in Remax's new tenants moving in? Can Remax Townand Country payback my deposit money????
