Horror Story- 1st time buyers REMAX AMANZIMTOTI

We are absolutely appalled at the service we have received from Remax Amanzimtoti!

We are first time buyers and have purchased a property in Amanzimtoti with way to many concealed problems.

1) When we signed the offer, the occupation date was never explained to us, nor was it said to us that we could set an occupation date within our offer, this was left as the date of registration, which was a huge issue for us as we were currently renting, i caused so much havoc with this, insisting that our agent negotiate with the sellers and she flat out ignored me from the time we signed the offer and it was accepted, we basically never heard from her again which in its self is disgusting and unprofessional.

2) The sellers refused to give a sellers declaration, which we had no idea was imperative as we had never done this before and trusted that remax had our best interests at heart, all we got was a verbal statement from the agent and the sellers that only a aircon needed to be replaced and thats it. - I later had this verified over an email

3) The sellers and agent gave us such a hard time about occupation, we ended up putting in notice at our complex we were renting as we were promised by the convayencers that it would be registered by the end of that month, fast forward to the end of that month and it was still waiting at the deeds office in lodged stage and we had no where to go as well as 3 dogs to consider, thankfully we had a family member who helped us out, we ended up waiting a further 22 days for the deed to be registered.

4) The deed was registered in our name and as per our sale agreement we could take occupation, the sellers where away on holiday with the keys to our home and told us the agent or conveyencer had never warned them that it was going to be registered any time soon, to which all parties deny.

5) The sellers arrived back 2 days later and then phoned us to ask if they could stay in the house for an extra 12 days as they needed to pack and move, we said no as we have dogs and they needed the space ect and it was our dam home now, the sellers and agent refused to give us a occupation date so we told them to get out in three days which is ample time to pack and move.

6) We arrive at the proper on the agreed upon day of moving to find that the sellers had not yet packed and the agent was MIA. When we called the remax office we were told that she was on leave and they didnt know we were moving that day, even though all parties had signed the addendum to the sale and remax was ccd in all the email correspondence. At this point I completely lost my temper with all parties, and was offered a pizza from remax to say sorry, and was told by the sellers that they will be out by that evening- you would think it would be over.

7) During the sellers rush to move out, they broke several things in the house, meaning when we took occupation, it was not in the state we viewed it in at all as per the sale agreement. the deck was broken, awnings were broken, windows were broken, there was wood borer infested in the house even though we had a compliance certificate, there were electrical and plumbing problems even though we had compliance certificates for that as well. Over and above all of this there was concealed black mold in the house as well as a huge mountain of ******* in the corner of the yard, the agent didnt even show her face to do an inspection or hand over the keys!!

8) We contacted the companies that did the compliance and they have ignored us and put the phone down on us saying they will pop in when they are free. The agent has taken more leave and is unreachable, the agency has just apologized and tried to give us pizza, the principal agent has said they will get to the bottom of this- yet they have still not and have not contacted us again.

9) We have contacted lawyers and will be suing, this is ********* and unacceptable!

This is a warning to all buyers, DO NOT USE REMAX!
