Dream home becomes nightmare of lies and frustration.

Very disgruntled first time buyer. I had the misfortune of finding a Remax agent - Bea Botes to help me find and purchase my first home. Once we found the property the estate agent was quick to help me put in an offer to purchase and set up the deal. And this is where it all started to go sour. The updates they give you are all a bunch of lies. They kept telling me how well and fast everything was progressing and when I'd be able to move in. I had given notice at my current place of residence and all was set. Then the updates started not to make sense, I was getting the same story for over 3 weeks after being told the matter was ready to lodge - this was after two months of waiting after signing - I get this takes time, but the information they were giving me didn't add up. After growing concerned I went to view the property I bought only to find the previous owner still living there not having vacated the property yet. This was very concerning so I contacted the attorneys who advised that they are unable to proceed as the seller was not the sole owner of the property he was selling and this matter would first need to be resolved. I now after paying a small fortune in transfer fees and legal mambo jumbo contacted my estate agent only to be met with very unprofessional behavior. They were disgruntled that I had contacted the attorneys as they were "updating" me, yet they were lying to me the whole time. The attorneys played open cards leaving them with red faces. How could they allow me to buy a property from a seller, knowing it would not be able to proceed as it cant be put into my name as the seller doesn't have it in his name. They seem to only care about making a commission on a sale and there after your on your own. The way Bea decides to talk her clients is reminiscent of a toddler throwing a tantrum. They then tell you all you can do is wait - meanwhile having no place to stay, or move in with the seller still living there and pay him occupational rent. They are probably in co-hurts to take a share of the rental. She offers no further assistance and is now making it my problem, all the while pointing fingers at all other parties. When I told her I am being misled and **** to and want to now my options she says her principle will call me to discuss and I'm still waiting. I have now lodged a case with the Property practitioners regulatory authority and they are now dealing with the matter. Be careful who you entrust your dreams and hard earned cash with as Remax seem only to be out to **** you.
