Moving companies sub-contracted to others

I needed to send 3 pieces of furniture from Hartbee****rt to Sedgefield. Phoned around and was referred to Reliable Movers. I asked for 2 references which was given and I called them and was happy, so I paid the deposit. The items were collected 25 January, 2 hours after our appointment for delivery on Monday 29 January. I then discovered that Reliable Movers only market moves and our move was "given" to Excuss Logistics who I paid the balance of the amount to. The story gets more interesting..... as Excess Logistics then subcontracted the move to Bulls Transport. None of this was ever disclosed to me upfront. I will admit that Reliable Movers - Miks did take my calls but just kept on moving the date for delivery but the communication from Excuss Logistics and Bulls Transport has been zero to pathetic. It is now 5 February, and the items still have not been delivered. I never even thought that one can subcontract a move from one company to the other without the consent of the client, but yes, here we are.
