On Sunday the 22 of March at 14:15 I decided to run to Checkers at the Richardsbay Boarkwalk Inkwazi Mall quickly to buy a few necessities (as most sundays actaully) I have short notice visitors comming through till monday. As I aproached The Checkers there was a set of trollies outside of the trolley bay (seperate to the ones in the trolley bay) I proceeded to loosen a trolley as they had just been brought in it seems and placed my empty shopping bags inside (for my groceries at the checkers) and thought to myself let me first go to the spice shop next door and get some fresh pappads before I go through the whole shlep of missioning with my stuff back to the spice shop. As I was walking with the trolley I heard a loud yell, the trolley porter from Rheho securtiy started loudly calling to me, eventually I turned around and looked at him and he told me to put the trolly back and that im not allowed to use it as its checkers property. There was no good afternoon or Hi how are you and he did not even give me enough time to actaully understand the audacity of his gross incompetence in not even engaging with me meaningfully and treating me like I am a ***** and trying to *****. While all of this is happening the front door Reho security guard aproaches as if im the cause of this whole altercation and tells me you are not allowed to take the trolly " you are not allowed to use it unless you are entering the store". He did not even say hello or how are you or ask where and am going with the trolley, By this time I was so embarrassed and shocked as I expect more from these institutions. I asked for a manager or senior and they shruged some person off onto me that was not even in a uniform and no remores was shown further. I know who the store manager is as I frequently speak to the regionals that visit the stores and I aproched him as he came out of his office. As I greeted him I explained my half of the story and he seemed shocked and said there is no problem and I am more than welcome to use the trolly if needed. The embarrassment was too much and I had left to go and purchase my items somewhere else. I could not get tja majority of my Items i needed thoug. This is a poor show from Reho Security. Your staff memberd embarrassed me, treated me like I a was a ***** and broke my trust relationship with very retailer that employ your services. Today they have cost Checkers a customer and created a slow and surely financial loss of my support to Checkers Richardsbay. My question is, Why do retailers have the service of trolleys and they are not locked uo outside with a person managing it .
