Spaces Century City Office Space - Appalled by the experience, don't rent there. They don't refund security deposits when you leave

I was a tenant at Spaces in Century city Cape Town for two years. After two years I decided it was time to move on at the end of my lease. So, I checked out in November everything was in order and I was told that I will receive my deposit in 30 days. It's already 3 months ago since I moved and still I have not received my full deposit.

I'm very disappointed with the way this company treats their tenants and I would not recommend anyone to rent at a Regus or Spaces. Save yourself by renting at much more reputable companies that operate within the lines of the law.

A security deposit is meant to be kept in a trust account when the tenant moves in. It's not money that is supposed to be used. Once a tenant leaves and if everything is in order the deposit is supposed to be refunded back to the tenant.

What's strange about this company is that when you move in they ask for a deposit, then every year they ask you to top up that deposit. Then when you leave they ask for more money again, EXIT FEES. What the hell is exit fees? Then after paying all these fees. They don't refund your full deposit but only the top up that you paid which is an eighth of the deposit. Instead of receiving R 8326.27, they only refunded the top up amount I paid last year R1484.

This seems to be their pattern, they don't refund your entire deposit, complete *******. I have contacted several people. It's a very *********** system because their accounts department is not even in the country, but based in Phillipines. The local centre managers can't even assist. Why they isn't a local Accounts manager who can directly assist here in South Africa remains a mystery. They make excuses after excuses showing that they don't want to refund.

So due to my experience , I will not recommend or even consider to rent at any regus or business centre in the world.
