Sad, Unhelpful experience with Regent Life.
On the 06th November 2019 I have decided to let all interested parties know how Regent Life conducts their business. I have taken out my policy with them in 2017, covering both myself and my dad. On the 16th October 2019 my dad passed away, I then went to Hollard office at Gandhi Square to start the claiming process. I was assisted by the lady called Ncumisa Qunu, she phoned Regent Life and she was then emailed the claim forms, we filled them in and emailed them back using the email address on the forms. I then waited for the payment but nothing happened. I then went back on the 04th of November 2019 at 10:30 in the morning, I got there and Ncumisa was also surprised when I told her that no payment was received by myself. She then phoned and found the lady by the name of Mabel, Mabel told Ncumisa that she wasn't suppose to email them using the address on the forms, Mabel then proceeded to give her email address, but to no avail. Ncumisa then phoned Mabel again and Mabel responded that no documents were received. Ncumisa tried 10 more times, at about 13:00 she said she got the documents and they were blurry, we were surprised about this because on our side they were fine. Ncumisa tried again with no luck of any response, I left the office round about 16:00 because Ncumisa said she will phone me if they respond. The next day Ncumisa phoned me to say that they haven't responded and she gave me Mabel's email address I emailed the documents myself, the email didn't go through then I tried calling them, with their lines being forever busy. I then proceeded to calling Hollard and I found a gentlemen by the name of Phumlani, who gave me the numbers to call ***and it didn't go through, I phoned Hollard again requested to speak to Phumlani he said he will patch me through to Regent, I got through to Regent while holding for like ten minutes. Eventually got through to Regent and started speaking to Lucretia, she check on her side and stated that she could not find any documentation,I then requested to speak to Mabel and hastily she rep**** that Mabel is not available, which aroused my suspicion. I further asked her to give me her email address so that i could send her the documentation directly. I then sent the documents to Lucretia but to no avail, I then proceeded to calling Holland in order for then to patch me through to Regent on answering the call I spoke to Ms Van Rooyen, again stated my situation, she found my documents which in her case were blurry, I requested her email address but she refused to give me her email address. Tired of all this digital run around I request her to send me the physical address of their offices to ensure my claim gets processed accordingly as I have been waiting for the money to pay of the loan I have taken in order to bury my father.
