Pathetic Service - Still no vehicle after 107 days of repairs

On 4th April 2016 my motorcycle went in for repairs through Regent Insurance. Now 107 days later and my vehicle has still not been repaired. I have spoken with the repairer and gone to see them, the delay is not on their side that I can say. Regent advised me on the 28th June they would follow up with the assessor on the delivery of a part and get back to me - still no response.
The best part of all the main reason I understand from Regent on why there is a delay is that they do not 'really' insure motorcycles and do not have any repair centers on their books - And they do not tell you this when you take out the insurance.
Also I was advised in the begining that I would receive the bike back in the same condition it was before the accident, however this is no longer true as I have been told I cannot get my air filter repaired to as it was as they will not cover that cost.
Not only has this taken too long - I now sit with additional transport costs as they cannot handle my claim in a fair time. All I want is my vehicle back and Regent not as my insurer - Just like the car I had to buy recently to at least have a mode of transport that I not Insured by Regent!

I believe it is time this entire dealing gets sent through to the Ombudsman for review.

Now after 121 days I am still without my vehicle!

After a conversation with Barbie I was meant to receive my motorcycle on the 28th July. Since then Kagiso Mogotloane advised that he expected that I would receive my motorcycle today 4th August, however now Kagiso has told me that he cannot advise when I will receive the vehicle.

While on the phone now with Kagiso, only now has he mentioned that he will push this matter to higher management, why only after my constant following up and fighting with Regent is my matter going to higher management?

I have tried to cancel my policy as this is not acceptable service, however I was advised I cannot do so until this claim has been settled.

The financial implications this has had on me is beyond fair, I had to acquire another vehicle and cover that cost myself as well as the additional spend on E-Tolls and petrol.

I have now reached out further to the Ombudsman and await their reply.

This afternoon, Hussain contacted me and arranged a teleconference between Regent, the assessor and myself.

I would like to thank Hussain for his assistance and understanding with this matter, the response I got and feedback was insightful and much appreciated.

This is by far the best feedback and support I have been provided with the issues started to occur. I now have a full understanding of what is happening and have been brought up to speed with all the happenings.

Thank you Hussain.
