Duplication of Policy for a sales representative to pocket his own commission
I am writing this review with my deepest disappointment. Last year a broker who came to visit us at our campus who was representing Regent but he also informed us that Regent was moving under the umbrella of Hollard was offering services to check policies for existing clients and sell new policies for those who wanted.
I was delighted because I wanted to add my youngest son and my spouse's children in my existing policy (which was deducting in my payslip an amount of R358) and I had made it very clear to him. This policy covered myself, spouse, eldest son and my mother. He then assisted me and he told me that I needed to fill in some paperwork which unfortunately I don't have records of. I told him several times that I wanted just to add new people in my existing policy and he assured me that he was doing just that.
Okay I filled out everything as per usual after filling out he then informed me that the policy will now deduct directly in my bank account since the premium would change and wont go through my payslip.
I understood that on the 15th of May 2020 the deduction of R524.87 started deducting which according to my understanding I would now have 1 funeral policy with Regent which covered Myself Spouse 4 Children My mother
To my discovery today, I opened my payslip today and I realized that there is still an amount of R358.00 that is still being deducted in my payslip so I called the call center to find out why. I have never been so disappointed and angry at the same time. The call center agent told me the R358 is a funeral cover which is the same policy that I told him to add my additional members and the R524.87 is basically a duplication of the R358 policy with the additional members. Who does that to a person?
I'm angry with myself for not realizing this in time but when you put your trust to a company and its representatives you never think that a person would do such to you. Why would I take out a duplication of the same policy? I am beyond being disappointed and I feel I have been taken advantage off. I have been a loyal client with Regent since 2012 and now this?
I would like Regent to provide with a way forward with this matter. I would like either to be refunded with my contributions that I have made thus far as from May 2020. We barely make ends meet and yet your representatives can provide your clients with incorrect information.
