3rd Party Claim against Regent Insurance

On the 28th of October 2017 a truck insured under Regent collided into me. He *******ly crossed an island and luckily the Metro Police where there on the scene as they were giving people traffic fines that did the exact same thing he did. I logged the claim with the broker of the Truck company on the same day and Regent Insurance only came back to me on the 20th of December 2017.

On the 2nd of January 2018 (After I inquired about the progress of the claim) I was told that an assessor had been appointed to come and inspect my vehicle. This is after I was made to look for 3 independent quotations. The assessor came to see me on the 9th of January and days after this communicated to ask further questions he might have missed

At this point, Regent would have not waisted money appointing an assessor if anything was wrong. On the 17th of Jan I received an email stating that the truck driver had changed his statement and that i had collided into him while he was stationary on an island. I was asked if I had evidence to prove this otherwise. Which I did and I also took pictures immediately after the accident which prove otherwise. I also sent a copy of the Accident Report that the Metro Police took down at the time of the accident. I sent these documents on the 18th of Jan 2018

Since then I have been told that they are awaiting response from their client. It is now close to 3 months that the accident has happened. I have had to change my tyres twice because the part that is damaged keep slashing my tyres.

The Regent consultants do not follow up with their clients unless I ask. And I wonder how they processed the claim in the 1st place in Decemeber and then come back in January and claim to have a conflicting statement.

I can clearly see that they are trying to frustrate me so that I claim from my own insurance. I had just fetched my car from the panelbeaters 15min prior to the accident and had just paid a hefty excess. I have a shortfall cover on the car finance with Hollard and wonder if this is how Regent looks after their clients. I am dismayed by all this and even today I still do not have a response from them
