Credit application - store card

The credit application process for this store is ridiculous. After applying online, they tried to contact my employer. He did not answer. I then tried to apply again, online and in store, hoping that they'll try and contact him again but I got notified that since my application was initially unsuccessful that I'd need to wait six months to try again. I need to wait six months for them to try and contact my employer again.
