Reedworth Pools - Bad experience
Reedworth Pools, based in Cape Town relined our pool with fibre glass at the start of lock down. From the outset, Malcolm was impolite and curt to say the least. They started the job 2 days later than agreed, and only communicated this last minute. However, seeing that we received a detailed report and references we went ahead. We had a few queries during the process, which took a few days. All questions were squashed and we were given quite a bit of attitude. We should have known then. The pool light was not replaced, which we thought was included in the quote as it was quite old, however Malcolm stated it was not and to refer to the quote which we saw was cleverly worded ie only the light cover was going to be replaced. The pool lining itself is really sloppy, and there was clearly no attention to detail. There are visible slaps of paint, dripping fibre glass and even finger marks. There are also 3 or 4 spots with very sharp fibre glass 'shards'. The reason we only saw this now is because we recently had a leak related to the light and when contacting Malcolm he went back and forth on emails without trying to resolve constructively but rather pointing fingers. We therefore had someone else fix this at great expense, and because we emptied the pool we could see the 'quality' of the work by Reedworth Pools, done previously. Not only that, despite really good pool care and a pool cover, the pool has yellowing and streak marks clearly visible - and this came about less than 2 years after the job was done. That sounds long, but for the amount of money spent on relining a pool, one would expect more longevity. I have pictures for all the streak marks, dripping fibre glass etc. in question.
