Recruitment **** or Simply Poor Professionalism

I received an email from a Georgia Cole stating that she is representing an IT company in search of an HR Manager and whether I would be interested. I rep**** that I would not say no to any options, subject to the option actually suiting my needs as well. She rep**** with a list of information required, as well as a link to an online application where I would be required to complete a lot of my personal information.

I then responded to say that I am uncomfortable with sharing my personal details with a company I did not initiate conversation with, who claims to represent the interests of another anonymous company. I asked for more information, starting with where she had obtained my details. I was stern and assertive, as I have been duped by recruitment ******** in the past.

Instead of replying to my questions and trying to make me more comfortable with the process, I received a phone call from this lady. She started the conversation by saying she would rather reply to my harsh worded email via phone and that her company has been doing this for many years. She also stated that it is my choice whether I wanted to proceed with the application and that it did not matter at all if I chose to or not. At no point did she make an attempt to try and explain process, or to put my mind at ease.

She sounded offended to the point where I felt extremely uncomfortable.
