Thank Red Truck - Service and Value exceeded expectations

Preamble: As I read through this you may think I am actually a phantom writer just trying to up their score: I am not! You can call me and I even have ‘happy snaps’ to share if you need validation. I am William Lorentz and welcome to look me up for this. Here is my experience. Moving house, in itself, is a daunting prosect and of the many parts that need to come together, you transportation sits right at the top of the pile. I did a search online for transport companies and asked for 5 quotations. Their online system was MUCH simpler to use and way quicker than the very detailed forms that other companies required us to complete. I am moving a house with personal and precious items, and not a biohazardous laboratory, so I was comfortable that the simplified online system was sufficient. The proof is in the pudding. Friendly staff. They answered emails weekends. I tried to call on a weekend and I seem to remember that a phone prompter mentioned that work hours were weekdays. (So maybe a standby weekend number would be good, I did not check – but this was not a biggie) The price was excellent. In comparison my quotes ranged from R 9 500 (no name Gumtree mover) to R 45 000. (Same 8 ton truck requested from all companies) Red Transport came in at R 10 250.00 I had boxed all my stuff, and had bubble wrapped anything that I felt needed its own protection for a journey across our famous district roads. They loaded that truck brilliantly. I watched and was impressed with how they made sure items fitted in such a way that soft items protected delicate items. They had a lot of foam buffers and so on, but I also had quite a few of my own dog-blankets which I included. But honestly, if you are moving your stuff, go to the second-hand shops and get old blankets. It all helps. A role of 100m bubble wrap is R 350 from Waltons and a bit of packing tape and you can really make sure those delicate picture frames etc are well looked after. My new house is along 100 km of D road and full of potholes. On time: So the team arrives 10 minutes after 8am. 10 minutes late. Again, I thought this was excellent. And they apologized for being 10 minutes late! Loading: quick and easy: I had requested for driver + 2 helpers. Driving: I happened to catch up with the truck on route and was impressed. No speeding, courteous driving and they were very cautious not to hit potholes. On occasion slowing right down to navigate treacherous parts of the road. One comment I liked was the driver remarked at the end during unpacking: “I know your house is your life, se we made sure not to bounce the truck.” Would I use them again: I am ! I am doing a total “semi-gration” office and all and about to do another 2 rounds! Keep in mind: Almost every transport company I read about on these platforms have had issues. And behind the issues there are customers who have cause to gripe, I have no doubt. Sometimes a truck breaks down, is late, hits a pothole etc… So give yourself time, wrap your special, delicate stuff properly and do what you can to mitigate against losses. I have nothing but praise for Red Truck Transport. I will comment again on my other loads... 1 down, 2 to go!! Cheers
