Bad taste and smell

Hi. I have purchased a case of red heart rum (the new bottles) and the taste is soooooo bad? I had a bottle of old red heart rum with a friend last night and it was beautiful. This used to be all that I drank but I'm changing to something new ASAP. Even gave away the other 10 bottles. I first thought it had something to do with the ice but I opened the bottles and the all actually smells bad. Why change a winning recipe RED HEART? Marius
