Worst Customer Support - One Deal A Day
I purchased an incense burner from One Deal a Day in March and the item was only delivered in level 4 lockdown in May. It lay in the box for two weeks because at first I did not want to catch the virus from anyone who might have handled it and secondly I was very busy with work, homeschooling etc. Then I received a daily email from One Deal a Day advertising the same burner, only it mentioned the special incense cones required to use the burner. I checked my box and there were no incense cones. So I contacted the company via email. I was asked why I only reported it two weeks later and I explained that I was busy and did not want to touch the box straight away nor did I realise that the cones were not included. The client consultant said she would talk to her manager and get back to me (Her name was Mimi). The whole month of June went by and I got busy again so I did not follow up with Mimi right away. At the end of June I inquired again and someone responded (no name attached to the email this time) stating that I must pay R100 for 40 incense cones plus shipping fees. I asked why I should be paying for something that should have been included in the first place? The person then rep**** claiming that the previous burners did not include the cones, yet the advert for the burner clearly states that the cones are included. So the consultant just plain **** about the cones even though the email thread began with the advert for the burner + cones! I asked to speak to a manager and this was the last day of June. I have not received a response since then. This is the most pathetic customer service/support I have ever received from an online goods website. DONT BUY FROM ONE DEAL A DAY! They clearly don't care about keeping their customers happy. I now have a pretty but useless incense burner in my living room - waste of money!
A few days later, I got a call from someone who works at One Deal A Day apologizing for the "misunderstanding" and the lady was polite enough. She informed me that the incense cones would be shipped to me and requested that I take down this review.
Today I received a parcel with 10 cones. It's a nice gesture for her to resolve the issue, but note that the burner was advertised with 40 cones, so why send me 10?
I'm just not in the mood to continue following up with the staff here.
I give up!
