I received an email and call from a Mr Benjamin speaking of a vacancy in Sasolburg which didn't make sense because I am based in Johannesburg and would not apply for a job in that area. When I explained this to him, he opted to do a telephonic interview which lasted less than 5 minutes and he would not confirm where the position was based or provide any further information regarding the position; there was also a lot of noise in the background as if he was outside. After the interview, I received an email saying that I have to pay R380 for a police clearance certificate that their attorneys would do, which was a clear sign for me that this was a ****, although I had already suspected it from the first point of contact. I was given an hour to pay this amount into a personal Capitec account. Just to prove to myself that this was indeed a ****, I asked if they would be able to deduct the amount from my first salary if they hire me because I cannot afford it at the moment and they did not get back to me and cut all communication. STAY AWAY AND IGNORE ANY COMMUNICATION FROM MR BENJAMIN. They are ******** taking advantage of job seekers.
