Hi, I have a difficulties getting my rental deposit back from the company's agent (Marietjie). I had a 6months lease contract from June-Dec 2025 under a agent at a place in Capetown, Avondale, 29 Buren Street. The agent never communicated with me up until I asked about the lease. She only came beginning of Dec for the inspection n only then I was updated about the 10% increase in rent, renewal of lease meanwhile this only apply to a 1 year lease but mine was just a 6months trial lease. Which I declined and told her I won't be renewing the lease due to I'm moving back to joburg n even if I wanted to renew the lease I wouldn't afford it. I'm already struggling to a month to month base. Now I'm being forced to continue staying here or else my deposit will have to cover the next coming months till the landlord finds a replacement. They are now breaching their own lease regulations. Already the apartment is being advertised while I'm still in vacant. Please help me get my rent back or advice on how to settle this matter at hand. 🙏🏾😭
