SETTLEMENT OF ACCOUNT
Good day to everyone

Last week I wrote a report about RCS in regards to a settlement amount and letter. I asked for a settlement amount to settle my account in FULL and I received my letter. SIGNED by Noreen Kolbe representing RCS and the management of RCS. The letter also containedthe RCS letterhead and said that the settlement IS VALID until 18 August 2015. After many many many phone calls to RCS and an investigation they phoned me back and said that there is nothing they can do I am still liable but they did send me a letter that my FULL amount is R*** and I then paid that amount in full before the 18th of August. This is not my mistake and as far as my concern my account has been settled.

Written in the LSSA Guideline of Electronic Signatures for South African Law Firms it clearly state the following:

Page 9, 2.11 - Reliance - Against this background a signature is evidence of the functions intended to be achieved by the signature. Essentially a signature will, on the face of it (sometimes supplemented by information associated with the signature), absent evidence to the contrary, be regarded by our courts as evidence that these functions were intended by the signatory.
