RCS pocketed R4,500 of my payments, ignored my emails, and handed me over to collectors!
Do not trust RCS. They are guilty of severe administrative incompetence and abusive collections practices. Between March and August 2026, I paid RCS a total of R 4,500.00 via Standard Bank/GoTyme Bank [168]. Because I used a text reference on my banking app instead of my 19-digit card number, the funds went into their unallocated suspense account [168]. I admitted this administrative error and sent bank statements with exact dates, times, and transaction references to trace the funds on 3 June, 5 June, and 17 August 2026 [168]. RCS completely ignored these emails, kept my R4,500.00, piled on ******* "Collections Message/Letter Fees," charged me interest on arrears, and handed my account over to MBD Debt Collectors (***) [168, 169]. To make matters worse, on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, I received a highly abusive call from an RCS operator on *** who called me a "****" when I offered to send the proofs again, and slammed the phone down in my face [168]. RCS has breached Section 111 of the National Credit Act (ignoring a formal dispute) and Section 40 of the Consumer Protection Act (unconscionable and harassing conduct) [168]. I have officially escalated this administrative spoliation of funds to the National Financial Ombud Scheme (NFO) and the Information Regulator [168]. Do not do business with this company.
