RCS is still ripping people off, check the Hellopeter posts. Hope someone shuts you down.

Vlieg in julle MOER in – memoirs of a highly gatvol, compliant South African about service delivery Let’s talk about it. We all know we are like frogs who were placed in cold water which is gradually heated… I started working 300 years ago (1986) after completing my studies. I did not have a bank card when I was a student. My Dad did a transfer to the Post Office in Stellenbosch and I went there once a month to get my pocket money. When I started working, I opened a bank account with Standard Bank. Just a debit card. A year later, I was enticed to apply for a credit card. However, to qualify for a credit card, you need to be in debt elsewhere (huh? This never made sense to me..). I duly opened a Truworths and Edgars account. Over the years, Standard Bank and Edgars gleefully increased my credit limits to ridiculously high amounts. Salute to Truworths who did not do this. I still have an account with them that I rarely use, but it is handy to have for the odd spoil like a bottle of perfume. When I was 24, I worked for Standard Bank and purchased my first house. Employees received home loans at a discounted rate. I will always be grateful for this. This was life before cell phones. It also meant that our only means of communication was through Telkom (I get a nervous twitch when I mention their name). Have you ever tried to cancel a Telkom line? I did after I moved to Somerset West. You stand in a queue in the Somerset West Mall branch for 2 hours before you even manage to make eye contact with a dikbek employee. I had the privilege of going there 4 times to get my Telkom line cancelled. Then.. the inevitable happens. You decide to purchase a TV and SABC enters your life. I swear their money collectors are a team of 3 billion people who are on the phone 24/7. I paid cancellation fees twice. Lost the proof of payment the first time when my car was jammed at our local Spar and my laptop was ******. I have happily not been a SABC / DSTV subscriber for 5 years. All went well with Standard Bank for 20 years. Until I had to get my ex- husband’s name off my bond. This is called a “substitution”. The ****** lawyers gleefully charged me R28 000.00 for shuffling a few papers. I went to Standard Bank, Menlyn, to obtain and complete the necessary paperwork. Payslips, copies of both ID’s, divorce certificate, blood type, weight and BMI (a little bit sarcastic about the last 3..). 3 months later, I received a gleeful call from a dumb idiot at their call centre (whilst sitting in hospital with 2 young sons having their tonsils removed). “Eh, have you received any feedback regarding your home loan application?”. (I already had a flippen bond for 20 years and only owed them R70 000.00 on a R2 million property). Calmly rep****: “It is not a home loan application, it is a substitution”. Idiot responded: “Oh, eh, your home loan application has been declined as your expenses exceed your income by 50%.” Me: “You clearly did not pass maths in Matric”. Slammed the phone down and raced to the branch as you CANNOT get hold of a Manager on the phone. You simply end up talking to idiots in a call centre. Found out at the branch that, whichever idiot at Home Loans dealt with my paperwork, really could not do maths at all. Infuriating. I should have closed my account then. Will get back to the next f&ckup with Standard Bank. Let’s talk about Edgars. Edgars joyfully handed over their debtor’s book to 2 other companies - Nimble and RCS (read the Hellopeter complaints, there are about 10 million). 3 years ago, I owed them R0.00. Just kept the account for the odd emergency. The following month, I received an account of R380.00. Phoned Edgars who referred me to Nimble. Nimble did not have ANY record of my existance or my ID number (I had an Edgars account for a mere 35 years..). Nimble referred me to RCS who also did not know that I was even born. RCS referred me back to Edgars, who referred me back to Nimble. Nimble then “found” me. The R380.00 was club card (which I never app**** or signed for) and admin fees. 15 fights later and lots of posts on all 3 companies’ facebook accounts, my account was cleared and closed. How many people are they *********** monthly? Shocking and unacceptable. Back to Standard Bank. I lost my credit card and duly phoned their call centre 3 weeks ago to order a replacement card. Answered the automated security questions. Even had to remember the name of my first cat that I got when I was 7. Was told the card would be delivered to the branch within 7 working days. Phoned 14 days later. Another call centre idiot. “Eish, wena, card was never ordered”. Re-ordered the card and when through the security questions yet again. Send Standard Bank a private facebook message. Credit to Mo, a sweet lady who handles their social media, for intervening and contacting me regularly. Phoned me back to tell me the card is with the courier company. CCD rudely told me that they have not received the card. Mo helped again and arranged for CCD to deliver the card to my house on Monday. CCD delivered this to the BRANCH yesterday. The wrong branch. I have spent hours on the phone and am still waiting for my card to be delivered. To my house. Yet another idiot at their call centre just told me: “Oh, so the card must be delivered to your house”? Slammed the phone down. End of 37 years with Standard Bank, will move my account to Discovery Bank. No wonder mental heath issues are out of control. Mens kan net soveel k&k opvreet.
