RCS going against the NCA and NCR rules...
I have a credit card with RCS. I’ve been paying my monthly installments and have never defaulted. Recently, I’ve been having financial difficulties and I told them that I can only pay in December. I spoke to Linah Hoshe and she told me that they are going to hand me over to the lawyers, and she told me to go borrow money from someone to make a payment. I don’t understand what kind of financial advice is that, when I clearly stated that I am going through financial difficulties and will only be able to make payment in December. She then told me that there’s nothing she can do but to hand me over to the attorneys. I then asked to speak to her supervisor and I spoke to Carla Geldenhuys. Carla told me the same thing and then they went on to say that they will be calling me every 3 days demanding for their money and they will be charging me for the calls. What I fail to understand is that, I’m already in arrears and they are going to be charging me for calls which they will be making every 3 days. I am extremely furious and this is definitely not aligned with the laws of protecting consumers. This is definitely going against the NCA laws and the NCR laws. Is this even legal? If I do not receive any feedback on this matter within the next 7 business days then I will escalate this matter to the relevant authorities.
