RCS and Edgars

I hardly ever use my Edgars account and had a good rating with them as I had always paid my account. However, in December 2018, I bought an item for R209.95 on account. After that it seems that I had been debited for R78 airtime on a monthly basis. I did not request airtime, I have no idea what airtime is being charged to me, as I have received no link or notification of anything different. I have had an account with MTN for years. Why should I need extra airtime? I paid R400 to my Edgars account and couldn't understand why I owed so much until I looked into it. Because of the extra R78 pm, my account is in arrears and is being charged monthly fees plus finances charges and penalties. I have been fighting with Edgars and RCS since March. They finally stopped the R78 pm but declined to give me a refund. RCS and Edgars Collections/Risk keep escalating the problem but nothing ever gets done. Going into Edgars, the customer care can't help me, we just sit for ages waiting for RCS to answer their phone, and then they just escalate. Calling RCS myself is frustrating and costing me money as they put you on hold forever before actually answering or dropping the call. In one successful conversation, they claim that I requested the airtime on a call. I have asked for proof on at least 3 occasions. They have said it would take 24-48hours. On another reference they said 5 working days. Either way they have not come up with any proof. In the meantime, Edgars are sending me letters of demand and threatening to hand me over to debt collectors and affecting my credit rating. They also do not allow me to make purchases with my card (not that I want to, I just want the point rewards), until I make a payment. This I will not be doing!

I don't require extra airtime, nor requested it. What I do require is a refund of the airtime debited to my account as well as all account fees, charges, penalties, etc. RCS and Edgars, I am very frustrated and disappointed in your service. I am sorry that in 3 months nobody has been able to help me, and that now I have to resort to social media to get something done.
