Questionable credit policy

I app**** for an increase in credit today only to have it declined. The consultant asked me what insurance, savings and rent I am paying and when I answered her she asked me to confirm those are my correct expenses. I told her they were not all our expenses. I also confirmed my income as well as the fact that I am married in COP. The application was declined. I am not sure how you determine affordability as I was not asked my spouse's income or our household expenses which are all shared. Surely you should include this as well? Would be interesting to hear what your policy on lending is. I am aware that your info pulls through from the Credit Bureau but that does not take into account that expenses may be shared.
