Pay It Off Card Hidden Fees!
On Wed,09/07/25,in Checkers Hyper,Arcon Park,I was approached with an offer for a "Pay It Off" Store Card,for which I was approved,so I accepted. I made sure to enquire about interest charges & any monthly fees,& THE ONLY FEE MENTIONED WAS A ONCE OFF INITIATION FEE OF R160. Then when I received the E-Mail documents,it discloses a Monthly Fee of R55. Why was this not disclosed to me upfront??? I called RCS,on Sat,12/07/25,to have the Card cancelled,but am told that I am stuck with having to pay the R160 Initiation Fee!!! I have only had the damn card for 3 days!!! I NEVER WOULD HAVE ACCEPTED THE CARD IF THE MONTHLY FEE HAD BEEN DISCLOSED UPFRONT. I WANT MY CARD CANCELLED IMMEDIATELY,BUT I AM *NOT* WILLING TO PAY THE R160 INITIATION FEE!!! (MONEY WASTED) I will take them to the Consumer Protection Commission if I have to. This is outrageous! What a rip-off!
