I paid settlement quote but now I owe MORE?!

I made a payment on my account and the objective is to close the account. I then wanted to close the account but the lady at the store told me I needed to wait a day or two to check what the settlement amount was. I then called into the call centre and the agent told me the same. I then received an sms saying the the settlement on my account was R85 09c and is valid till 16th of July 2023. I made the payment as per the quote but now I must pay another R192...its like this company wants to keep is in debt and is not happy when one wants to close one's account. I refuse to pay the R192 and you can deal with the attorney about that money.
