Fund Deducted & Account Closure

A very disappointing and disrespectful experience from Edcon.

The First Email sent to Edcon on September 5, 2020, 1:37

After speaking with a consultant named Melissa from Edcon Customer Service Department on September 04, 2020 at 3:56pm, regarding closing of my account I had a look back at my statements from October last year to date, and after reviewing each statement I found that I have being charged for a service which I have not signed up for and I have had an amount of R220,17 owing to me which has now reduced to R59,17 owing to me.

I attached all statements from October 2019 to September.

Since October 2019 to December 2019 I have had an amount of R220,17 owing to me.

In January 2020 an amount of R28,75 was deducted from my account, the description being "Principal Debt Adjustment", after this amount was deducted my balance was R191,42 owing to me.

In February 2020 an amount of R17,25 was deducted from my account, the description being "Principal Debt Adjustment", after this amount was deducted my balance was R174,17 owing to me.

In March 2020 an amount of R23,00 was deducted from my account, the description being "Principal Debt Adjustment", after this amount was deducted my balance was R151,17 owing to me.

In April 2020 an amount of R23,00 was deducted from my account, the description being "Principal Debt Adjustment", after this amount was deducted my balance was R128,17 owing to me.

From May 2020 to August 2020 I have not received a statement sent to me, I have then received a statements for September 2020 reflecting an amount of R59,17 owing to me with the same R23,00 still being deducted from my account, the description being "Principal Debt Adjustment".

No one from Edcon could provide any clarity as to why I have been charged for these amounts although I had extra money in my account, as I have not subscribed to anything during this time, nor did I take anything on credit.

I expected to be reimbursed for the amount of R220,17 that I have had in my account. I requested once I have been reimbursed, please could they close my account as I do not require it any longer.

I then sent follow up emails on the following dates: October 7, 2020, 10:51 AM October 15, 2020, 8:42 AM October 19, 2020, 10:58 AM November 13, 2020, 2:30 PM November 25, 2020, 8:35 AM

Email addresses sent to the following participants: EdgarsClosure <***>, ***, EdgarsClosure <***>, ***, edg*******, ***

To date I have not received an email or call back regarding a resolution to all my emails sent through.

For a large organization of Edcon to not resolve loyal customers issues, is very disappointing and disrespectful at the same time.

I am not sure how to proceed next, please could someone direct me on the next step of action to take, in order to get reimbursed and my account closed.

Thank you

Kind Regards, Vigeshen Pather

Hi RCS Group,

I hope this actually gets actioned and not just ignored like all my previous emails.

All I want is to get reimbursed for my funds due to me and this account of mine closed.

Its shocking that only once its posted here on a public domain does a response come through.

If I receive no resolution I will keep posting on this platform.
