RCP Construction / Raymond Palm - Poor maintenance and lacks ethics.!

Raymond Palm, trading as RCP Consultants of 57 St Clair, Kaapzicht Road, Buh-Rein Estate in Cape Town supp**** me a written quotation on 16 March for the installation of a box gutter to the thatch roofed part of my property.

Mr. Palm states in his written quotation that RCP guarantees workmanship for a period of 5 years provided that the owner attempts to keep the product as clean as possible.

After installation was completed in March, and the first subsequent rain, I found that the installation is faulty with water pouring in all around the area where he worked.

Upon inspection I found that the installation has been done poorly and contrary to the assurances by Mr. Palm of workmanship and professionalism that will be ensured. The first major problem is that the gutter is not installed to form suitable drainage, with the gutter slanting in the incorrect direction, causing water to build up and overflow into the house.

Furthermore, the thatch has been damaged in several places and I will have to get this repaired by a 3rd party at my expense.

I have contacted Mr. Palm, who has ignored all of my attempts to reach him.

Even when I supp**** Mr. Palm with photographic proof he refused to discuss the matter with me.

When I finally reached Mr. Palm from another telephone number, he undertook to provide a thatch specialist to inspect the problem.

Yet, Mr. Palm ignored any further attempts to reach him. Even a stern email letter has been ignored.

It is obvious Mr. Palm has little experience in the repair of this simple task and should be avoided at all costs.

This matter will now be referred for litication.
