Rude Response From RS Electrical

I called RS Electrical to ask is they would please send someone out to give us a quote on a gas installation. The person on the phone - who I assume is the owner - tells me that he will have to charge me a call out fee to give me the quote as we stay in Riebeek West. I asked him why, as we will quite possibly accept the quote as we have been struggling to find someone and that asking for money to give a quote is not good business... his response was "My business is doing Very well thank you!" With this attitude I took this to mean that he doesn't need more business. Please AVOID doing business with this company... My question is, why is Builders Warehouse using this company if they have such a bad attitude? #builderswarehouse @builderswarehouse

Sir thank you very much,sir I said in the conversation we have to ask a call out fee which the debating with me as to why. Sir to give a quote is 3 hours of travel plus another 1hour or so preparation for the quote. I try and provide a good honest service but you also have to be fair. Sorry you feel that way and I see you are happy to post stuff because a small business can just drive and spend money everywhere

You need to understand that I always try to support small business. I know that it is necessary to sometimes ask a fee to give a quote. What I have experienced before is that a company would charge a call out fee and upon acceptance of the quote they deduct the fee from the final payment.
If this is similar to how you do it then why not say so? Why the "I'm doing so well that I don't really need your business" attitude?
I don't know if you are aware of the tremendous business opportunity that you have before you, as we have been trying to get hold of someone to do our gas installation for 6 months now without success...
