Unreliable Timelines, Inconsistent Follow-Ups, Communication Issues, Incorrect Parts Ordered, Refund Delays

On the 4th of April 2024 I booked my laptop in to have the screen fixed and GPU fan replaced at RBS Computers, Port Elizabeth. I was told that I would have to pay the full amount before they would order the parts and that it would take around three to four weeks for the parts to come in and my laptop to be ready for collection. Keep in mind the fact that I work from my laptop. Four weeks pass by and I go in to check up on the progress so far, to be told the parts haven't come in due to come issue with the supplier. I come in another two weeks after that, only to be told the same thing, SIX WEEKS with no contact from the company and none of the parts have come in. I only received my laptop around the 5th of June, TWO MONTHS after I booked it in and even then they only replaced the laptop screen because even after making me pay for them to take my computer in, analyze what was broken and get the CORRECT parts, they still ordered the incorrect part, ordering a CPU fan instead of a GPU fan, which wouldn't fix and was therefore useless to me. After that I was told that they would order the GPU fan and it shouldn't take more than two weeks since they have a local supplier and don't need to order the part from overseas. On the 8th of July I went back to see if the fan had come in yet, which it hadn't and JP, the man assisting at the time, told me he'd contact the supplier and give me a call in around 10 minutes, which obviously didn't happen. So on the 18th I went in to get a refund since they were not planning to do anything to get the parts in or keep me up to date of any progress, signed a paper, with the correct amount that would need to be refunded, told I could expect the money within a week.

It is currently the 30th of July 2024, I have yet to be refunded, when calling in to the business you are told to wait a bit and they will call you back, which DOESN'T happen. The ONLY way to actually get them to actually do something is to go in person and visit the store.

RBS Computers seems to struggle with maintaining proper communication, adhering to promised timelines, and handling customer service issues effectively. Their inability to provide timely updates, coupled with the failure to process refunds as promised, paints a picture of a company with significant operational and customer service deficiencies.
