Maintenance costs that are rightfully the owner's responsibility are passed onto the municipality or the tenant. For example, an overflowing sewer due to root incursion inside the property which I, the tenant, paid to fix (after endless requests, smell and flies) was claimed as the agent's expense. The contract was changed every 6 months in order to accommodate increasing utility costs, yet the two month notice period was used as an excuse not to pay my deposit. No invoices were ever received for rental paid. My advice, if you do business with these people, be prepared to launch a Rental Housing Tribunal case from the start.
