RARU's Zero Interest Loan ****
I learnt a lesson. I ordered a desktop PC from RARU on the 4th Jan. On the 5th Jan I got an email from RARU (Customer Services) stating that the PC was discontinued and they will credit my account and on order of the replacement new updated model (note - the specifications were exactly the same as the ordered model), but I only have to pay about an extra R2,600. I immediately requested a refund of R9,257, which RARU (Cynthia) said takes time and is not immediate. It is now a month later and I still don't have my money returned. I did query the refund on the 22nd Jan and RARU's (Cynthia) response again was that she did tell me it takes time and the process is not an immediate process and they are currently processing huge refund volumes and I need to bare with them.
I see a trend in the MO. In August last year it took about 6 weeks for my refund on ordered DVD's (also suddenly not available and then immediately available at a higher price). I am wondering, do they have other reasons why the “process” takes so long to return a customer's money when no goods were supp****? Is it Cash Flow or zero interest loans using customer refunds. What does the Consumer Act say about refund times. This is almost R10,000, I need my money!!
