No refunds for no delivery

I ordered a gift for a friend which never arrived. Two weeks after I ordered, at the time I expected the delivery, they sent a mail that 'the supplier is out of stock' and they will refund me in store credit. Unacceptable, so I wrote to customer services demanding my money back. I received a reply that my "refund request has been escalated to our refunds team for processing at the soonest". Two weeks later nothing. No refund, no word. This is not an isolated incident. The exact same thing happened to a colleague of mine.

This is a matter of policy: Raru has a policy of selling things that they can't get a hold of. They won't let you know immediately that they can't deliver. When they do this, they have of policy of giving store credit rather than a refund. When you ask for a refund, their systems are obviously not set up to do this in a timely fashion.
