Free layflat on 300x300 Hardcovers

I received an email from Rapid Studio, with the heading: FREE layflat on 300x300 Hardcover. Nowhere did they once indicate that you still have to pay for the book and the printing. Even if you click on the terms and Conditions ,it just take you to their website, that still doesn't say you need to pay anything. So...you assume they grant you a free photobook!

After I designed the photobook for hours,, I ordered, and when I got to the end of the process, where you select the free layflat paper, do one get an amount payable. That is not acceptable, as they advertise: Free!!

Even when I phoned the company earlier that day, did the man not say I need to pay, he just told me how to go about ordering my supposedly \free photobook\".

I honestly have a problem with the way that they advertised this product. I have been a client of these people for a long time, but am very disappointed with them now!"

Hi Rolaine,

I am really sorry you found that advert misleading. "Layflat" is premium paper option, with an additional charge, that can be chosen instead of our regular "Silk" paper. From time to time we run specials letting users upgrade for free.

The more expensive "Layflat" paper option being free does not in any way make the book free. It was never our intention to mislead or confuse anyone. We sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding, and that you felt mislead. That was never our intention. All the mailers we send are checked internally, and by an external 3rd party before sending a campaign, none of us felt it was misleading at the time. We all felt that the wording in the mailer describing the "paper option" and "layflat paper option" as being free and never saying anything to suggest a "free book".

Once again, we sincerely apologise, you clearly feel the message was open to misinterpretation, that's something we just did not see when preparing the mailer. Please understand this was never our intention at all.

We sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding and will try harder to avoid any ambiguity in similar mailers in the future.

Kind Regards

Steven
